It's my Birthdayy, I do what I want!

Linking up for Confessional Friday :)

1. My worst fashion offense of all time has to be oh gah there were so many! All throughout the 90s?

2. The most embarrassing song on my iPod is probably Um maybe Hey Mickey, from Bring It On soundstrack.

3. The last white lie I told was probably telling someone I was on my way when I still haven't even left yet.

4. The celebrity I most wish would disappear is Kanye & Kim at the moment. BYE.

5. Sometimes I wish I could just live at the beach.

6. My childhood crush was Nick Lachey, HA

7. I've never turned down Diet coke.

8. people embarrassing themselves in front of a big group makes me a nervous wreck.

9. I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to someone throwing themselves a pitty party.

10. Much like a train wreck, I can't turn away from watching The Housewives or Honey Boo Boo.

I wish I knew back then what I know now.

Every year right around this time I tend to get even more sentimental than I already am and think way too much about everything. I also find myself going through past pictures and think GAH why did I think that was such a good idea? HA.
Yes, I know I am no where near close to figuring out life but there are a few things I wish I had known when I was 18.
1. Don't stress too much over the future. Graduating high school I thought I had it all figured out. I had a plan. Well, plans change and it took me a while but I learned you have to adapt and just go with it. So what if I didn't go to UGA like I had originally planned and yes I changed my major like 5 times before I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. But it's ok, there is a reason why things didn't go the way you planned them. I still don't know how things are going to pan out for me, but you know what, I've learned to let that fear of the unknown go and just go with the flow.
2. It's also to make lots of mistakes but hopefully you learned something from them. My parents and I always have this conversation when they tell me I told you so. And as much as I love it when they are right, I know I need to do certain things on my own to learn from them. I am pretty sure if I hadn't done and learned it on my own terms, I would probably still be doing some of those things.Ex: Being orange from the tanning bed is NOT cute. Some things do need to stay off of facebook, and
3. Be selfish every once in a while.  Sometimes you need to say whatever and do what you want. Don't worry about being such a people pleaser that you don't make time for yourself. It's ok that you want to go away 3.5 hours to school and take this time to really learn who you are. Thinking about some of the things I put myself through in the past just to make others happy is ridiculous. Gah I was such a pushover. What makes me laugh now is when people ask me why I've changed, um no it's just I learned not to take S**** from anyone. Sorry I'm not sorry.
4. As much as I hate admitting it, your parents actually do know what they're talking about. Momma will be ecstatic to see me admitting this. All those little chats we had in the past where I used to roll my eyes when they were trying to tell me something, I want to take back and actually listen. Little things like learn how to budget your money, take responsibility, and they always have a good judge of character about the people you surround yourself with.
5. Learn to be comfortable in your own skin. Comparing yourself to others won't get you anywhere.  If everyone else is doing it too, you don't have to jump in on the bandwagon. Learn how to be alone and enjoy it. Do things out of your comfort zone, this is the best way to discover things about yourself.

5 on Five

Happy Friday Y'all!
Here are my five faves of the week :)

My good friend Hilary is partnering up with Chloe and Isabel and selling her own set of fashion jewelry. Above is just a sample and i'm already obsessed. Her mom is having a hostess party this weekend and I am ready to shop! ( click on the picture to check out her website)

The Loft had this sale happening yesterdaqy, I may or may not have gone a little overboard.

Long story short a few years ago i got food poisoning from sushi and couldn't eat it for years after that. I've tried and tried because I used to love it. Finally Hilary took me to Kiku down here in Atlanta and I was able to eat it All. Y'all have no idea how excited I am to go back to eating sushi now and not get nauseous, HA.

UM coffee mate has girl scout cookie creamers! Enough said! You can get it at Kroger or Ingles or i'm sure everywhere else but those are the two places I found them at.
And finally next Friday is my Birthday! woot woot. Lets hope it doesn't turn out like my 21st birthday! HA

TBT: Movie Edition

Linking up for one of my favorites. TBT! This week i'm totally taking it back to all the movies back in my teen days that I would totally go home right now and watch all over again!

Was I the only one who was terrified to eat a jawbreaker after this movie?

You can NEVER go wrong with Space Jam!

I hate the way you talk to me,
and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick,
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you’re always right,
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh,
even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you’re not around,
and the fact that you didn’t call.
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,
not even close…
not even a little bit…
not even at all.

I can go on and on with this list, but i'm gonna stop right there.

You know you're growing up when...

With my Birthday coming up next week ( the BIG 23) I've realized a few things about myself...like i'm becoming an adult. ( when did this happen?).

I've made a list of things that are making me realize and accept i'm no longer a teen and growing up isn't bad as I expected it to be.

  • My first thought when I get paid isn't to go spend it, but rather how to save money
  • Going to bed at 9 is totally acceptable some nights( even weekends)
  • Shopping at forever 21 is not on my list anymore ( Hello J. Crew and New york & Co)
  • I've accepted all the engagements showing up on your newsfeed and I'm actually happy for some of them
  • I judge those girls I used to be when going out
  • I understand all those underline meanings behind some of my favorite shows like Friends, HA
  • My email is full of coups and I actually take advantage of it
  • Sometimes my favorite thing to do is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
  • My fridge is now stocked with food ( healthy food at that) and not alcohol
  • Naps have become one of my favorite things
  • Eating drunk food past midnight gives me the worst stomach aches in the morning
  • It's ok to change and become the person you were meant to be.
Well there's my I'm getting old list and you know what, I don't hate it. And I'm sure as the years pass I will a TON more to add. :)
Happy Hump day Y'all!
